No. We Don’t Want You to Quit Your Job

It’s the number one thing we tell every single workshop and webinar attendee. It’s one of the things that may make some folks hesitate to try Re-Working.

So we’re going to say it loud and pin it everywhere: you don’t have to quit your job to do this work. While Re-Work was established in some ways in response to the conditions of work during the pandemic and the great reckoning and resignation, we don’t think you need to quit to have a better relationship with work.

In fact we’re trying to redefine the future of work. To make work better, more meaningful and more filled with creative approaches. We want you to do better work. We don’t want you to resent and/or hate your job.

Yes, some jobs just suck and no amount of re-imagining will make the grunt or frustration of a toxic environment better. But, we hope and believe that most jobs can be improved simply by approaching it with a more sustainable mindset. Not overworking yourself to prove your worth and burning out in the process.

Re-Work is not about not working. In fact it can be hard work to change your mind and unlearn the habits and beliefs (like the many “Lies We’re Told” about work that we share in workshops). It’s about believing in something better and different for yourself.

Really it’s about choosing something different everyday, creating a practice using the Re-Work equation that keeps you tuned into what you need and what will help energize you to do your best most inspired work (usually rest is involved).

We’ve both burned out and we know how awful it feels and wouldn’t wish it on our worst enemies. So this is about avoiding burnout, creating work cultures grounded in sustainable wellbeing, and shifting the future of work.

Which means it isn’t easy work to do, but we have found it worth it. We hope you will too.

You can join the Re-Work community to start your journey with support from people on similar paths at the bottom of this page.

Also, have you heard? You can now access the Re-Work Equation workbook outside of our workshops. In hard copy and digital formats. The workbook is our dedicated guide to help you truly re-define your relationship with work and define success on your own terms. Work through your unique journey of Recognition, Rest, Play, Creativity, and discovering New Ways of Being in life and work.
